Capitalmind Investec was able to identify and solicit interest from several parties within days and completed the transaction with Aurelius who ultimately took a majority stake following a capital increase. In parallel a restructuring agreement could be negotiated with the senior and junior lenders which included German commercial banks and a large German shipyard.

About the deal

Reederei Deilmann, a German cruise line operator company that also owns the “MS Deutschland”, a five-star cruise liner which features in the TV series “Traumschiff”, was looking to source fresh equity to avoid the pending insolvency.
