About the deal

Founded in 1998 by Christophe Milon in Lannion, Quanteo Group is one of the world’s leading players in people flow and counting. The group operates through two companies:

• Eco-Compteur (Lannion, Brittany), a pioneer and world leader in pedestrian and cyclist counting, offering flow analysis solutions in urban and natural areas. With more than 5,000 customers, mainly local authorities, Eco-Compteur, which generates over 70% of its revenue internationally, equips most major European and American local authorities (mainly in the United States, Germany, and Canada).

• Quantaflow (Honfleur, Normandy), the French leader in flow analysis in shopping centers, offering indoor counting solutions based on cutting-edge technologies (3D video capture, AI) and flow analysis.

Driven by the fast development of soft mobility and the increasing use of data by public bodies in their decision-making process, Quanteo Group has experienced fast growth over the past few years, reaching a turnover of €25 million in 2022. Christophe Milon decided to seek support from investment funds to achieve ambitious growth objectives and to initiate the group’s managers’ and employees’ equity participation.

This transaction represents the first step to the handover of the group to the management team and the employees. A foundation, involved in the shareholding structure and in the governance, was created, aiming to ensure the permanence of the group in Brittany and Normandy.

Capitalmind Investec advised the majority shareholder in the structuring and the execution of an MBO, sponsored by Siparex and Bpifrance. 

What we did

Capitalmind Investec acted a a sole financial adviser throughout the transaction process: advice of deal structuring, deal tactics, investors introduction and selection, marketing documentation drafting, competitive bidding process, debt financing, and management of negotiations with potential investors.

Capitalmind Investec kept its promises. They supported me in my project, involving the group’s managers and employees, as well as setting up a foundation. Thanks to their advice and engineering expertise, I achieved my initial goals. Looking back, I can now say that it was exactly what I wanted to do.
