About the deal

Capitalmind Investec has supported Technical Safety Services on its acquisition of Clean Air Technologies, a market-leading provider of controlled environment validation, testing and calibration services required in high-performance, regulated pharmaceutical and life science settings. The acquisition will provide Clean Air Technologies with access to a global client base and enhanced services as it continues to deliver for clients in the UK and Europe.

TSS is a leading provider of testing, inspection, certification, and calibration (“TICC”) services to customers in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, and other life sciences end-markets. TSS provides on-site technical services mandated to occur at regular intervals to ensure all clients remain in compliance with regulatory standards. The Company’s services are performed across the lifecycle of a customer facility and ensure the compliant operation of controlled environments such as clean rooms, bio-safety cabinets, medical gas systems, high-purity water systems, laboratory equipment, and more. TSS was founded in 1970 and is headquartered in La Jolla, California.

Backed by Levine Leichtman Capital Partners (“LLCP”), TSS has embarked on an ambitious acquisition strategy in the US with Clean Air Technologies being their first deal in Europe, an ideal platform for further expansion across the continent.

Clean Air Technologies delivers a comprehensive set of testing and validation services for cleanrooms, containment and environmental laboratories. Clean Air Technologies has an established reputation for providing facilities/device testing & validation, cleanroom saleability fumigation and maintenance services to a number of blue-chip clients. The business was founded in 1998 and has been at the forefront of bio-containment and contamination control ever since.
