The acquisition of DeltaMed is the 12th transaction which has been executed by our teams on behalf of Groupe Gorgé.
About the deal
Based near Frankfurt/Main in Germany, DeltaMed has been developing photosensitive products for medical and industrial uses, especially in the dental and hearing aid sectors, for over fifteen years. DeltaMed has particular expertise in the field of development of photosensitive resins for additive manufacturing applications. The company currently supplies resins to several leading manufacturers of 3D printing machines, providing development, certification and production services.
Through its subsidiary Prodways, Groupe Gorgé today has the most efficient 3D printing machines for a certain number of applications. However, the supply of materials was too limited to offer each customer the specific machine-material combination that best suited each application. This strategic acquisition will largely meet this need. Vertical integration, up to the production of specific resins internally, makes it possible to master and capture the whole of the value created by the machine-material combination for the applications developed by the Group.
Established in 1990, Group Gorgé is a French industrial group operating in four areas of expertise: smart safety systems, protection in nuclear environments, industrial projects & services, 3D printing. In 2013, the Group reported revenues of €215m. The group employs over 1,300 people with operations in about 10 countries. Groupe Gorgé is listed on NYSE Euronext Paris and the US OTC market via ADRs.
